Austin Payne, P.E.

oWNER and Principal Engineer

Austin has over 20 years of experience in the field of Civil Engineering. His engineering expertise spans across residential, commercial, and municipal projects including grading, drainage, wastewater, utilities, structural, and wetlands.

Prior to starting Upright Engineering, Austin planned, permitted, designed, and performed construction management of wetland restoration projects in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout California. Austin has designed large infrastructure projects, military installations, and onsite wastewater treatment facilities. He has also worked as a land surveyor and served as a materials testing laboratory manager. His broad range of experience in the Civil Engineering field gives him a unique understanding of the nuances of Civil projects of all forms.

Austin has a hands on approach to design, he is involved in all of his projects from start to finish. He conducts all of his work with a focus on maximizing client benefit by optimizing, sustaining, and enhancing the natural beauty of all projects.

Austin lives in Lafayette with his family, dogs, cats, and chickens. In his spare time he likes to play soccer and enjoy the outdoors.
