CALEB STRANGE, EIT

MANAGING STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Caleb joined our Structural Engineering team in 2020 during the Covid lockdown and showed his tenacity by overcoming the challenges of integrating into a new team while seamlessly handling engineering projects. As the structural engineering lead at Upright, he specializes in residential, commercial, and municipal projects. Caleb is an excellent listener who skillfully translates clients’ desires into practical and safe engineering designs. His unique ability to explain complex engineering concepts in an easily digestible manner makes him a valuable asset on-site, and his meticulous organizational skills always keep our team on track, on time, and within budget.

Driven by a passion for continuous improvement, what excites Caleb most about engineering is the constant challenge to grow as an individual while applying nature’s theoretical principles in creative ways to benefit both the present and the future.

Caleb’s previous roles included bridge falsework design for CALTRANS and temporary shoring design for California High Speed Rail projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering from San Jose State University and is an Engineer in Training currently in the process of obtaining his Professional Engineering license.

Outside of work, Caleb enjoys spending time with his wife and best friend, Jenna, their newborn son, Link, and their two cats, Rocket and Demona. In his spare time, he loves to read, write, and travel, immersing himself in the richness of different cultures. He feels fortunate to have explored many incredible destinations, including China, Egypt, Central America, and Europe. Whenever possible, he finds it incredibly rewarding to study the local language before each trip to enhance his travel experiences.
